Fees, Rebates & Assessment Information

Clear, practical support from the start.

At Unique Minds Psychology, we believe accessing support should feel clear and straightforward. Below is general information about psychology consultation fees, rebates, assessments, and payment processes for children, adolescents, adults, and families across Perth, including Winthrop and surrounding communities.

Our goal is to make the process feel transparent, respectful, and easy to navigate from the beginning.

Psychology Consultation Fees

Standard Psychology Consultation

50-minute consultation — $250

This may include:

  • Individual therapy

  • Child, adolescent, and adult support

  • Parent consultations

  • Review appointments

  • Feedback sessions (where appropriate)

Fees are payable on the day of service,

Assessment Fees and Pathways

Assessment pathways vary depending on age, presenting concerns, complexity, and the type of assessment required.

This may include:

  • ADHD assessments

  • Autism assessments

  • Cognitive assessments

  • Specific learning disorder assessments (including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia)

  • Diagnostic clarification and differential assessment

We begin with an Initial Intake to better understand concerns, gather relevant background information, and determine the most appropriate assessment pathway.

Following this initial intake, we provide clear information about:

  • Recommended assessment type

  • What the process may involve

  • Estimated fees

  • Timeframes

  • Report and feedback inclusions

This helps ensure recommendations are tailored to the individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Medicare Rebates and Mental Health Care Plans

If eligible, psychology sessions may be accessed under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP.

A valid referral is required to claim Medicare rebates for eligible psychology sessions.

Please note:

  • Medicare rebates are processed after payment

  • Eligibility and referral requirements apply

  • Rebates may vary depending on the clinician and appointment type

If your GP is preparing a Mental Health Care Plan, please ask them to address it to Rebecca Rowland or Chantelle Bubalo at Unique Minds Psychology.

Private Health Rebates

Private health rebates may be available depending on your level of cover and provider.

We recommend checking directly with your health fund for eligibility, rebate amounts, and psychology cover.

NDIS and Private Funding

Unique Minds Psychology does not directly provide plan-managed NDIS billing.

NDIS participants are welcome to access services privately and may be able to submit invoices to their plan manager for reimbursement, depending on their individual funding arrangements.

If you are unsure whether this pathway may suit your circumstances, please feel free to contact us.

Payments

To keep our systems streamlined, secure, and accessible:

  • Payment is required on the day of service

  • A valid credit or Visa debit card is required when booking online through Halaxy

  • Card details are stored securely through Halaxy

  • Payments are manually processed by your clinician on the day of your appointment

  • The clinic can only view the last four digits of stored cards

This helps us reduce administrative delays and maintain a smooth booking process.

Cancellation Policy

We require at least 48 business hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur the full consultation fee.

Please note:

  • Appointment reminders are sent as a courtesy only

  • Non-receipt of reminders does not waive cancellation fees

  • Where clinically appropriate, telehealth may sometimes be offered as an alternative to an in-person appointment

Additional Clinical Services

Clinical work completed outside scheduled therapy or assessment sessions may attract fees at the standard hourly rate, charged on a pro rata basis where applicable.

This may include:

  • Reports and written documentation

  • Letters and supporting paperwork

  • School liaison and educational recommendations

  • Teacher collaboration and support planning

  • Parent or caregiver phone consultations

  • Third-party communication (e.g. GPs, allied health, schools)

  • Form completion or additional documentation

We will always aim to communicate this clearly where relevant.
