At Unique Minds Psychology, we provide neuroaffirming, evidence-based psychological support for children, adolescents, adults, and families across Perth, including Winthrop and surrounding communities.
We understand that seeking support can feel significant — whether you are navigating anxiety, emotional wellbeing, neurodivergence, learning concerns, behavioural challenges, or seeking greater understanding through assessment.
Our goal is to create a calm, respectful, and collaborative space where individuals feel understood, supported, supported, and empowered.
Our Story
Unique Minds Psychology was created from a shared passion for providing thoughtful, evidence-based care that is both clinically thorough and genuinely person-centred.
We recognised the need for psychological support that feels warm, approachable, and practical — while still grounded in strong clinical understanding and meaningful outcomes.
At Unique Minds, we believe understanding should always come before assumption, and support should be individualised rather than one-size-fits-all.
Our work is grounded in respect, collaboration, and helping individuals better understand themselves, their strengths, and the supports that can help them thrive.

A Strong Understanding of Schools, Learning, and Accommodations
Alongside working in private practice, we have worked across school settings for more than 20 years.
With extensive experience in both private practice and school psychology settings, we have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, learning differences, emotional wellbeing, classroom functioning, behaviour support, and the educational systems that influence day-to-day school life.
We understand that for many children and adolescents, challenges are not simply academic — they can also impact confidence, emotional regulation, friendships, behaviour, school engagement, and overall wellbeing.
We have a strong understanding of appropriate school-based supports, accommodations, and practical strategies that can assist children and adolescents feel understood, regulate more effectively, and reach their potential.
This may include support related to:
ADHD
Autism
Anxiety and school overwhelm
Executive functioning difficulties
Specific learning disorders, including dyslexia
Emotional regulation and behavioural support
Social and friendship challenges
Individual learning needs
School-based accommodations and support planning
Collaboration with teachers, learning support staff, and families
Because we understand how schools work, our recommendations are designed to be realistic, meaningful, and practical within educational settings.

A Special Interest in High-Masking Girls and Women
We have a particular interest in supporting high-masking girls, adolescents, and women whose ADHD or autism presentations may have been overlooked, misunderstood, or missed due to internalised symptoms, strong academic performance, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or “appearing to cope” externally.
We understand that neurodivergence in girls and women may present differently from traditional stereotypes and often becomes more noticeable across increasing life demands, burnout, or significant hormonal transitions.
We also recognise the impact that hormonal changes may have on neurodivergent girls and women across:
Pre-puberty
Puberty
Adolescence
Postpartum
Perimenopause
Our approach considers the broader context of emotional wellbeing, identity, masking, and lived experience — helping individuals feel understood beyond surface-level presentation.
If you have felt that concerns may have been missed or misunderstood, you are not alone.
